Father-Daughter. A Story of (Miss)understanding

250 RON

Sometimes the same relationship leaves behind two very different stories.

Between a father and a daughter there is what was said and what remained unsaid, what was offered and what was missing, closeness and distance, presence and absence. The same gesture can take on different meanings, and sometimes what marks a relationship is not what happened, but what needed to happen and never did.

Father-Daughter. A Story of (Miss)understanding is a set of 46 projective cards that explores the father-daughter relationship and the different perspectives that can form around the same history. The images create a symbolic language for closeness and distance, protection and autonomy, expectations and disappointments, presences and absences, without deciding in advance how the relationship should be understood.

Each card can open conversations about:

  • closeness, distance, presence, and absence
  • protection, autonomy, control, and boundaries
  • expectations, needs, and things that were missing
  • the difference between intention, behavior, and impact

In practice, Father-Daughter can facilitate:

  • exploring the father-daughter relationship through symbolic language
  • expressing experiences and emotions that are difficult to formulate directly
  • identifying what was said, unsaid, assumed, or understood differently
  • exploring ruptures, distances, and relational closeness
  • building a more nuanced perspective on one's own relational history

It can be used in:

  • individual psychotherapy
  • psychological counseling
  • family therapy
  • personal development groups
  • individual or group exploration

46 illustrated cards.

A father. A daughter. Two stories about the same relationship.

And between them, everything that was said, unsaid, offered, refused, lost, or understood differently.
