The Talkative Coin. Language of money and self-worth
300 RONThere are prices we only discover after we have paid them.
Before we learn what money is worth, we learn what we believe people are worth. Sometimes it is hard for us to ask. Other times it is hard for us to receive. Sometimes we spend in order to fill an emptiness. Other times we save in order to feel safe. Our relationship with money often tells the story of a much older relationship.
The Talkative Coin is a set of 52 projective cards in which the coin is given a voice. It speaks about money and about everything we come to project onto it: value, merit, success, power, safety, scarcity, and sacrifice. Because every coin carries, beyond the value written on it, a story about the person holding it in their hand.
Each card gives voice to a coin, and what it says about money speaks, in fact, about the choices, fears, and beliefs of the person who listens to it.
Each card can open conversations about:
- the relationship with money and personal value
- success, merit, and beliefs about abundance or scarcity
- control, generosity, and the need for safety
- the emotional costs hidden behind choices and sacrifices
The Talkative Coin can facilitate:
- exploring the relationship between money and self-worth
- identifying beliefs that influence financial and personal decisions
- understanding emotional costs hidden behind apparently financial choices
- opening difficult conversations through the metaphor of the coin
It can be used in:
- psychotherapy
- psychological counseling
- coaching
- personal development groups
- individual or group exploration
